Nicotine is a POISON, you know. It is unfortunate that it activates the nicotinic receptors in the brain in a hugely addictive way.
I keep seeing people vaping in places they shouldn’t be smoking at all, apparently thinking that this magically enables them to do so. I saw one person vaping on the freaking subway once. This is NOT safe, and is NOT legal in most places. You’re still spewing poison gas!
That sharpie is entirely too dangerous – an invitation to commit heinous acts against school property! It’s the gateway drug to tagging and spray paint!
I smoked for many years (quit 15 years ago) so i understand the addiction, even the tough individualism aspect of smoking. I see kids “vaping” and see the hardware as a transition to being hooked up to other electronic devices such as respirators. Not judging, to each their own, but I wish them luck in quitting.
Lemme ‘splain. Vapes put out an aerosol, which isn’t neither smoke nor a vapor. Think hairspray. The good news is, most of the tiny particles in the aerosol may be filtered out and remain in your lungs. That’s also the bad news. And since nobody really knows how a lot of the ingredients will affect your lungs, the kids getting hooked now are the lab rats. Some research indicates vaping increases COPD, which is weird because the vape companies want us to think their products are a better alternative for people who have health problems from smoking….
Nicotine is one of the most highly addictive drugs, and these pens boost the content way above what cigarettes, pipes, and especially cigars put out. Nicotine sulfate was and remains one of the deadliest and most effective pesticides. Even with that, quit smoking over 20 years ago, still use snuff, as do many ex smokers.
Marijuana IS good medicine, but I have concerns about “recreational” use, and those under 25 shouldn’t be using either tobacco or marijuana, same for during pregnancy.
But if you want the real killer, that DOES affect school kids, go for alcohol, starting with beer and working their way up.
Some schools are forbidding the use of phones at school. And of course, tobacco smoking has been forbidden for a long time. Best to add to the list of “forbidden” at least until the data are in.

You gotta know, putting any kind of smoke into your lungs is bad news.

Unfortunately, ‘bullet-proof backpacks’ are also becoming a necessary school supply.

It beats sniffing Sharpies, it gives me a headache just to open them.

What kind of fool ever supposed that chemical nicotine dispensers didn’t need the same sort of regulation as vegetable nicotine dispensers?
