That car, gentle readers, is a 1959 Cadillac. It was bought by people pretending to be wealthier than they actually were. No emissions controls, premium gas (high octane), and best of all, no mileage standards. So, it is just where the Trump EPA wants to go. Drill, baby, drill.

If the Cadillac no longer has the fins to impress your neighbors, then get a golden potty – sure to do the trick.

A bloated, wasteful, gaseous monstrosity with tiny wheels (hands) and no real top .. just like the “salesman”.

I’m just an old Army grunt, with no real education, but even I have heard of false equivalence.

Yes, I do get Lester’s point. He’s just wrong. We don’t “buy” America, we build it. And when it needs improving, we get down to the hard work of improving it.

I/we had much better before Trump, and I believe that there will be an “after Trump” and that we will again have something better… something that truly is America and doesn’t just have the name “painted” on it in big letters.

Dang Mike, why would you associate such a crappy car with America? Cars like that were nothing but a paean to wastefulness. Is that what you think of us?

There are so many better ones you could have chosen.

Let’s have a salesman who wants the best for all. Not one that lives by the creed, “let the buyer beware”.

I think, maybe, Lester’s both telling us that the USA is as ugly, uneconomic and inefficient as that car… and that The Unindicted One is telling us that if we don’t like it to go back to where we came from to get something else. I think.

(Immediately goes and buys a German car)

I always said that Trump reminded me of a used car salesman (Warranty? you don’t need no stinking warranty! This car will NEVER break down! I promise!).

… because that one lost is soul.

What is missing is when Obama towed Bush’s wreck out of the ditch, cleaned it up and fixed it. Trump came along just as Obama was pulling it out of the garage all shined up and said “I’ll take it from here.”
