When did the comet LAST past Earth’s orbit?

The orbital period of Halley’s Comet is about 75 years and its last orbit past Earth was in 1986. Is it really hard to believe that it’s next orbit past Earth will be in 2061?

1986. Author Mark Twain was born when Comet Halley was visible and later predicted he would die when the comet returned 75 years later, He CALLED it.

Not only that, but motor oil fills in for maple syrup, and there are many other examples of fake food.

Just like the reason fast food burgers look so perfect on TV is because the patties are barely cooked and artificially colored to make it look juicy and char grilled.

Um, why’s it so unbelievable that John Lithgow was first choice for Fraiser Crane? There are lots of actors known for their popular roles that they weren’t even first pick for.

I’ve heard three different pronunciations of Halley’s… where the first syllable is pronounced “hail” … or pronounced “hawl” … or rhymes with “pal” or “shall.”

Dang. I may not be around to see that!

The reall ice cream h as to be used for commercials about an ice cream brand. Mashed potatoes are only used as props.

My grandma saw the comet as a young woman; some folks were literally going bonkers, thinking it was the end of the world..Oh my :^|

2061? Looks like I’ll miss that one…

A Chinese tech, new to the country and our lab, once ordered mashed potatoes in the cafeteria, to be seriously disappointed they weren’t ice cream.

Anyone else remember the Candid Camera skit where one kid was given a cone with ice cream and the other a dip of mashed potatoes?

And the camera crew’s kids have learned to hate evening treats…
