Most conservative/evangelical Christians should really just call themselves “ians” because they don’t actually believe in the Christ. They’d side with Herod and justify his crucifixion for daring to challenge the money changers in the temple.
I was hungry and you let me starve. I was naked and you pointed and laughed. I was sick and imprisoned and you told me it was my fault. I was a refugee, and you put me in a concentration camp. Truly I tell you, what you do to people whom you feel superior to, you do to the king of Heaven.
Matthew 25:42-45 New International Version (NIV)
42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
Out of curiosity I used BibleGateway to search the NIV bible for the word “wall”. 265 instances. Read some. Mostly not relevant to our current “Wall Culture”, but some came close. Just interesting, I guess, how some things don’t change.
Let’s get some perspective here: From the viewpoint of the Mayans and Incas the Spanish and Portuguese were the ‘illegal aliens’ and to the tribes of N. American the Europeans were the same. The indigenous population roamed the country until the Europeans kept pushing and pushing until finally the Pacific Ocean dictated that there was no place left to be pushed. And then adding insult, they were put on ‘reservations’, which AOC would probably call ghettos, and treated as third class citizen in their own land.
And once the ties with the crown had been brokenWestward in saddle and wagon it wentAnd till the railroad linked ocean to oceanMany the lives which had come to an endWhile we bullied, stole and bought a homelandWe began the slaughter of the red manBut still from near and far to seek AmericaThey came by thousands to court the wildBut she just patiently smiled and bore a childTo be their spirit and guiding light ‘Monster’ [Steppenwolf]
When I was in high school, a great many years ago, in New Mexico, we would occasionally get a new teacher from somewhere “back east” who had no clue about hispanic names. It was always a chuckle when they took roll on their first day: “Rebecca Ballard (here), Ra(y)mon(d) Diaz (si), (long pause) Jeezus?? Domingwues? (Heysoos, ma’m, Heysoos Doming-es)…”
This, though, is no laughing matter. This is almost surely unconstitutional harassment of at least some of the people being taken away, ICE having already shown that it’s incapable of distinguishing citizens with brown skin from their neighbors.
The Lone Ranger and Tonto were surrounded by attacking indians and out of ammo. The Ranger turned to Tonto and said, “ I guess this is the end, Tonto.” Tonto replied, “What do you mean, White eyes?”
“Roberta” and Bonespurs could take a lesson from that?

It would be funnier if it wasn’t so true.
