The teacher, I feel…. may be overstating just a tad when she says the team is making “great progress” if what we have seen is any indication. :)
Nancy, herself, today…. sadly…. oh so sadly…. reminds me so much of a fairly heft percentage of my students (and also two of my own kids) in their disjointed view of reality in regards to “success” at something: Wanting to succeed at something (a class, basketball, etc) is a start of what is needed for success. But…. accepting that one is NOT prepared TO succeed yet is also a critically needed part as well. It is really the only way that leads to the hard work and effort that is required to change oneself.
