But I did enjoy Pab’s play on words, although those not familiar with German would possibly not “get” it. So to expound a bit on JW Kennedy’s comment, fellow comic lovers, Pab is using the word “Kampf” because it sounds similar to “camp”, even though it means a fight or struggle. (Hitler wrote “Mein Kampf”, which means “My Fight” or “My Struggle.”) “Camp” in German is indeed “Lager”, though some translation sites may just give “Camp”, since English words are sometimes used in other languages, too. But the word for “children’s camp”, as meant in this comic, is “Kindeslager.” (Kind = child, Lager = camp). To those who think I am too obsessed, that’s okay; I’ve been obsessed with languages since almost before I spoke English. To those I might have confused, my apologies – it’s getting late and I’m tired. In that case, please refer back to JW Kennedy’s succinct explanation.
