I always thought that image of sleazy lobbyists and rapacious politicians was a canard … until … I lived in Washington, D.C. for a couple of years. It was true then and it’s still true today. Foggy Bottom Swamp will never be drained and the denizens are thriving under this current maladministration.
Every now and then, they get on their High Horse about something and the Campaign Contributions just Roll in.
It’s so much easier than calling a “Donor” and Demanding a payoff for doing Nothing. Instead, you announce what they are going to be buying at a Press Conference.
