I had a cat (Spooky) that could leap to the top of an 8-foot bookcase from a sitting position on the floor. You could see him coil his muscles for that jump. He liked it up there.
I don’t think Rose will bother the cats. She’ll put the books down to shelve later. Why else would so many cat lovers’ beds go unmade for hours until their cats get out of them? Unless she plans on picking up each one for a cuddle before plopping them on the floor.
Rose may be a little taken aback at having Peekaboo’s friend as a guest. I remember a lovely Sunday strip with Peekaboo and her friend (Ringo?) on the windowsill. The family came walking by, and Peekaboo spoke to them: “Mew! Mew! Mew!” After they walked on, Peekaboo said, “I’m so embarrassed!” Ringo replied, “It’s all right. I talk baby-talk to my humans, too.” Loved it.
