When push comes to shove, it’s always good to have Tarzan around…

Stupid Tuareg. He went for the hero instead of the ones in the red shirts. Oh wait, the French legion hasn’t got anyone in red shirts, do they?

Yeah, all the legionnaires were as brainless as the jungle natives that they needed a jungle ape boy to tell them to do that.

Well, I guess that’s the end of this story arc. That all ended well.

This is why I always tried to be low man on the ladder when we were attacking a Foreign Legion fort. Actually, I’ve always wondered why we bothered. Why not just go around it?

Keep the defenders busy at the rampart while digging a tunnel under the wall on the other side—then set off gunpowder charges to collapse the wall!

“Remember the Alamo!” where’s Davy Crockett when you really need him?

Tunnel under the wall? While I doubt they would build a fort’s wall on sand, they would build it on stone. And outside the wall, it looks like sand. Not exactly easy to tunnel under these walls, even if you had the right tools. And long sieges … in the desert? Shirley you jest! Only if you have control of a watering hole.

O.K. men, so much for the ladder idea. What else is in the suggestion box?
