Check out “brain-dead”, which is what some of these cartoonists seem to exhibit. Maybe once they come up with a method to determine if a embryo is sentient and aware (as well as viable) get back to us. So far, a heartbeat is shared by the embryos of humans, horses, chickens, jellyfish, or any other creature. That doesn’t make them any different at that stage. Women aren’t children. Stop infantilizing them. They are adults, they want to have an abortion, and they know full well what they’re doing. The doctor isn’t initiating the procedure and isn’t some nefarious manipulator conning a woman into having it.

And as long as the body of the woman is require to carry, she is the ONLY one who can make the decision. When YOU are the one who is required to carry for nine months, then YOU can make the decision. Until then, stay out of it. If is absolutely NONE of your business.

The only reason we have “abortion doctors” is because the terrorists who oppose abortion have made it impossible for us to have “doctors who, as part of their medical practice, sometimes perform abortions.” Talk to your personal physician about it—he/she will tell you that the fear and concern for family and friends is what prevents a physician from providing this medical care to a patient. So the only people who provide this care are those who are willing to practice behind locked doors with surveillance cameras in the parking lots. A heck of a way to run a medical system—good doctors can’t provide needed care to their patients, so patients are sent to “abortion doctors” who must risk their lives very day to provide the care.

I wouldn’t blame the doctors as they would be faced with jail terms of up to 99 years if they perform abortions. But one should notice that all the current states that have passed such brutal anti-abortion laws were all part of the former CSA (Confederate States of America).

Varvel is right; anyone who helps women out of difficult situations has no heart.

Varvel obviously never had a proper education that included Biology, so he doesn’t understand fetal cell contractions are not in any way (outside of religious wishful thinking) considered a “heartbeat”.

You tell me how many of those listed above can pro-create a doctor, nurse, lawyer, mother, builder, janitor, stock broker, scientist, psychologist, . . Or someone who is Pro-life without which you wouldn’t be in existence to ignorantly criticize their views.

Since a human being exists from conception, all age limits on abortion are arbitrary. Every state has restrictions depending on how ghoulish their legislators are. Some vomit at the thought of killing a baby with a heartbeat; others can eat lasagna while watching a doctor stab scissors in the head of a 9 month old fetus ready to be born.

Bottom line is that a nation that does not care for its most vulnerable people deserves what it gets.

Please refrain from using the term pro-lifers. They are only pro fetus. Locking immigrant children in cages isn’t pro-life, sending our young men and women thousands of miles away to die for big oil and the MIC isn’t pro-life, thoughts and prayers for the children and adults who die regularly in mass shootings in’t pro-life, arresting those who leave food and water in the desert for migrants seeking a better life isn’t pro-life, walking away all smug and leaving a women to raise a child she can’t afford is not pro-life. If their is a god, today’s christians don’t serve him and there will be a special place in hell for these hypocrites. Call them what they are, women hating, pro fetus Nazi’s.

It’s funny that Southern white men are so fascinated by lady parts and their functions. It even ranks above their fascination with what other men do with their privates. (True, you don’t have to be a Southerner; Rick Santorum is as big a perv as there is, and he’s not.)

Is Varvel implying that it should be OK to kill those doctors?

Varvel’s job is to feed the Rightwing Trolls. Here’s yet another example of how he fulfills that mission: He pictures a person who is labeled as being only about abortions. That person is male, and drawn so as to look doofusoid. That dumb person is then given some lines to support the assertion that he’s got no empathy. Every single element of this is at best a distortion: Doctors who also perform abortions are never specialists in that. And they’re often women. And they’re usually very focused and intelligent… and care very much that their patients have the best possible outcome from a heart-wrenching procedure.

Give him some credit for drawing well: He pictures correctly the location of the (non-sounding) heart, and the doofoid expression is evocative. Too bad he doesn’t use that talent for good.

Count Varvel among the radical Republicans who demand that a woman carry even their rapist’s child to term. Let’s trust women to make their own choices.

Why does this cartoonist have such a hard time with spelling ?
