The number of bicycles a cyclist needs is N+1 (where N is the number you have now)

That fits my life, but I spell it ‘motorcycle’.

How many times have you convinced yourself that I want is the same as I need?

Just cuz it is the last one you need doesn’t mean it’s the last one you will get

Just like boat owners getting ‘twofootitis’ . In 2004, we bought a 30 foot houseboat The Admiral wanted a head, and I agreed. In an attempt to abate the curse, we named it “Nuffernau”. Enough for our present needs. We still have it.

It is the same with kayaks and canoes. My current count is 4. I bought one a couple of weeks ago from a guy whose wife noticed he had two identical ones, and he had to offload one in a hurry. . . A general purpose one, a playboat for whitewater, a tandem so you can take a passenger, a long fast boat to keep up with my girlfriend…..I need a canoe to take cargo on two week or longer voyages… And don’t get me started about sewing machines

Geez. That applies to laptops, phones and sports cars too! But not costumes, restaurant meals or pocket knives. Hmm.
