A comment on a gardening site about getting rid of gophers from someone with explosives experience. He said he used some type of incendiary device. Possible over-use as he had flames coming out of holes all over his property. Evidently did work.
Time to play whack a mole. When I was a kid my dad helped a friend with a gopher. The flooded his hole with a garden hose. When the gopher popped its head out, they whacked him with a shovel.
