The fix for Social Security is simple and has been known for a long time. But Republicans continually block any effort to shore it up. They’d rather force it to fail than fix it.

If Social Security did not exist, and you came up with the idea and tried to sell it privately as a retirement plan, you would very soon be under arrest for marketing a Ponzi – type scheme.

If Republicans hadn’t stolen from the Social Security trust fund to pay for GW Bush’s war, it would be doing much better.
