My golden’s L.L. Bean catalog elegance contrasts sharply with his Mad magazine goofiness. And, he WILL retrieve . . . he just doesn’t like to give it back.
My dog Cody has been going to doggie day camp twice a week for just over a year now to give him a chance to socialize – I didn’t even know there were such things as doggie day camp. We spent a year in an apartment waiting for our house to be done, so he was without a proper yard during that time, and I discovered doggie day camp in an attempt to decrease his anger (he missed having a yard). He loves it, and it has made all the difference in his attitude. To the point that, even after we moved into the house and he got his new yard, he still goes twice a week because it just makes him a happy happy dog.
Apparently, at doggie day camp, he’s something of a ladies man. And his preference? You guessed it: golden retrievers. My mutt of a dog prefers honey blondes. Of course he does.

Catalogs may have Goldens, but TV commercials have more Border Collies because they are better actors.

Actually, I think there are way more Yellow Labrador Retrievers being used – they are currently the most popular breed in the US.
