Feb. 28. 2010, (10, 02, 28), I finished my last day of my 28 day notice. That was also the last day in my life I am going to shave. I’m not married and my cat loves it. Move over ZZ Top.

Yuck. I went to my dentist yesterday and found that he grew a beard. Not a good look, especially since you’d think he’d want to show off his teeth, not hide them.

Back in my day, beards were for hippies and hillbillies. I know times have changed but I always wondered if people who wear beards are just too lazy to shave.

I’ve had a beard for 35 years, been with my wife for 30. She loves it. My cat likes it too but his opinion doesn’t weigh in as much as he thinks it does.

I’ve had a beard for about 40 years, and my wife for 31 years, and my cat loves my beard too, I think. I can vouch for the fact that we who grow beards are just too lazy to shave, and that we feel sorry for those who aren’t.

Beards are good. They keep your chin warm and are handy for storing leftovers. She’ll change her mind about kissing after a few days without them.

I like my fella better with his beard. He looks very handsome.

Depending on the style, grooming your facial hair takes more effort than simply shaving it clean every day.

It depends on the face, it depends on the beard. These days I wear what I think is called an Imperial: a trimmed mustache, and just a patch under my lower lip. I’d LIKE to be able to grow a fuller beard (not like Adam’s, but fuller than, say, Conan O’Brien’s), but it comes in too think where I don’t want it (my neck) and not thick enough where I want it (up on the cheeks).

^ That’s how I read his post too!

Laura, a beard will not hurt your face – they’re very soft. Much softer than 5 o’clock shadow, which Adam has by the time you come home from work! And I don’t think it’ll hurt your eyes, unless he kisses your forehead a lot…

FWIW, I last shaved in 1972. I prefer the look, even though I would look younger without the whitening beard. Bloodletting, aka shaving, is against my religion–self-preservation.
