Hi from NZ! We’re pretty keen on the proposed ban, yep.

Did they ban automatics, or just semi-automatics? Automatics are banned in the US.

Of course, semis don’t serve any civilian purpose, either.

The Kiwi’s enact gun control after 50 died. So far this year in the US 3,477 people have been killed by guns, 729 young people have been killed or injured, and there have been 69 mass shootings (these figures do not include the 20,000 people who suicide by guns each year). We have done nothing.Source: Gunviolencearchive.org

In the end, New Zealand’s laws are not our problem. It’s theirs. If people get upset about gun control in foreign countries (English-speaking or otherwise), that should tell you how badly they need to see a shrink. I mean look at the UK: They also don’t have guns there but it doesn’t affect the US either! America has its own problems (evidenced by this strip). Other countries have never, and will never, affect us on that level.

Two popular 19th century defensive pistols were neither revolvers nor auto-loaders: the Sharps Bulldog and the Remington Derringer.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, no regulation of the militia shall be tolerated.
