Great artwork, it really captures the original style of two of America’s greatest comic book heroes.

And a couple of candidates for congress want to make it illegal to downgrade movies with female or LGBT leads in comments sections.

Would be the wrong franchise to discuss Captain Marvel, since it started with DC. Also when it comes to “rethought” the marvel “captain marvel” went through so many iterations they are going to make a new one in a movie or two.

Would be the wrong franchise to discuss Captain Marvel, since it started with DC (as in Shazam is Captain Marvel). Also when it comes to “rethought” the marvel “captain marvel” went through so many iterations they are going to make a new one in a movie or two. Personally I prefer the original, or the black Captain Marvel.

You gotta realize Batman and Superman are like 80+ years old. They should be yelling at people to get off their lawns.

The Captain Marvel in the movie I saw yesterday was a reiteration of Ms. Marvel, who originally only had powers because of the Kree costume she wore.

Captain Marvel has gone through many iterations over the years … Ms. Marvel, Binary, Warbird, Catherine Donovan, Captain Marvel.

Frankly, having her empowered by the tesseract, was pretty cool, and the movie was very good, with only some pacing issues early on to mar the experience.

I will admit that I am interested in the Captain Marvel movie, as Carol Danvers has long been one of my favorite Marvel Comics characters.

I remember the Captain Marvel that defeated Thanos and his search for the Cosmic Cube in the early 70’s – as created by Jim Starlin. Great series and made him one of my favorite heros (along with Al Kaline – go Tigers!). The Cosmic Cube is just a remake of the Infinity Cube that is being bandied around nowadays. The remake with the feminine Captain Marvel is another change in style of the Marvel Galaxy, but not too bad of a change. Character is pretty good and everything in a comic strip. This gender change was a much better change than when JJ Abrams destroyed the Vulcan planet in the first remake of Capt Kirk with Chris Pine. I still don’t forgive him for that.

As a side note: I have the comic book (in good condition) Shazam! Vol. No. 4 1973/07. I go through old comic books that I have from childhood just to reminisce.

I legit don’t understand where all this complaining about “change” WRT Captain Marvel is coming from. Carol Danvers has been Captain Marvel for a decade. And she’s not even the second woman to bear the name.

In the more recent cartoons there is Capt. Marvel and Ms Marvel. And in one Ms Marvel says she took the name out of respect for the original.

So to DC heroes, Marvel is comic book fiction.

If they had someone playing Captain Marvel, I would take my 3 sons and go see it. I will not take them to see a movie that supports such a man hater as she is. Instead we watched Akita, it was pretty good.
