Scratch feels like the McDonald’s of birds.

Which is probably closer to the KFC of birds, come to think about it…

This hokey anti-cat study from 2013 has been shot full of holes repeatedly, but as you can see once a story telling certain groups of people what they want to hear, it is near impossible to straighten the facts out.

“Demonizing cats with shaky statistics, however, won’t help us build the pillar of understanding required to strike a satisfying balance between the needs of cats and their supporters with the needs of wildlife facing a feline threat.” See https://www.npr.org/sections/13.7/2013/02/03/170851048/do-we-really-know-that-cats-kill-by-the-billions-not-so-fast for more.

If those billion birds weren’t killed by cats they’d compete for food with the other birds and increase the number of birds starving to death by about … a billion, because the environment can only support a certain number. Also, the vast majority of birds live outside populated areas, and house cats don’t have transportation, so it’s feral cats that are doing most of the killing, and why are they any worse than foxes or other predators?

It is a problem but….a billion a year? Sounds wrong. Where did they get that figure?

Great, more stupid anti-cat propaganda. Maybe it’s time for a new artist.

Good Lord Almighty, enough with the hokey-a$$ed BS about cats killing a billion birds a year. Criminy, your blessed wind turbines kill more than cats do. People who required to be obeyed at every turn hate cats so these narcissistic a$$holes make up crap to defame the poor animals simply because cats are a little more choosy with their affections. To anyone who believes this hokey-a$$ed bird crap, I ‘ve got some land in Florida I’d like to sell you.

Again…I have had 11 cats and not one of them has ever killed a bird. One brought a bird in to show me one time…it was still flapping in her mouth. She walked back outside and let it go. It flew away.
