    One more time:

IF you actually want FEWER illegals, prosecute the businesses who hire them.

Also, require companies who import ‘legals’ to prove there are no Americans available to take those jobs,

    AND

require tracking ALL of those ‘legals’ to be tracked to ensure they return home when their visas expire.

    .

And, develop an effective e-verify database/system and force employers to use it.

    .

Of course, if you want a steady supply of illegals to use as a political football to enrage your base, then cartoons like this are very helpful.

    .

Another example of Trump Disciples lying about EVERY issue.

Unauthorized crossings are still at historic lows.

American Presidents 1 through 44 were able to effectively deal with much more with much less. President Trump is either botching his job on purpose in order to create a fake crisis or he is incompetent. Possibly both.

Under international law –- which the United States helped establish after WW II –- migrants fleeing for their lives are legally allowed to seek asylum. To legally request asylum, a person must be physically present on U.S. soil.

The number of people crossing the southern border has experienced a massive decline in the past two decades, and attempted illegal immigration across the border has plummeted to lows not seen since the early 1970s. When comparing data from recent years, it looks like attempted illegal immigration is up, even though the numbers remain at historic lows.

One third of the people apprehended by Border Patrol were referred to “credible fear” interviews, the first step of the asylum process.

The number of people caught crossing the southern border in February of 2019 was 76,000

The number of people caught crossing the southern border in February of 2000 was 211,328

In 2000 1.64 million people were caught crossing the southern border.

In 2018 396,579 people were caught crossing the southern border.

The president’s own words declare there is NO emergency. This tidal wave is less than a ripple in a puddle. This cartoon is propaganda; nothing more, nothing less. But it will play well to the shrinking core.

That is a picture of legal immigration at the moment. They are swamped and need processing help.

Funny how no talks about those who have overstayed their visas, or illegals from China, Russia, or India. It’s almost as if people were afraid of Hispanics.

I can recommend the movie A Day Without a Mexican, which I watched yesterday.

The racist Right is simply afraid of more future citizens who might vote for Democrats, and turn Arizona, Texas, and some other states Blue. At the same time, many of their corporate donors want cheap and easily exploited labor, and are vehemently opposed to agricultural and domestic and construction workers having any sort of regular legal status, and any enforceable rights.

Give me a break. Show me how illegal immigration is either increasing year by year or that it’s actually causing any real, systemic problems (and no, I’m not interested in hearing about one person whose been repeatedly deported and keeps coming back and committing some kind of atrocities: That’s not systemic).

My brother, who makes a living as a handyman in the SW has a more or less real beef with Hispanics: They are willing to live more crowded, so they can afford to undercut his prices. On the other hand, only a few (if any) of them are illegal.

That “wave” is far too big if you’re comparing it to the past waves.

I notice Mikey didn’t finger the Democratic Congress. That’s good. I just have trouble understanding why the so-called crisis was not present during the last Congress. It only became apparent in January.

That’s not illegal immigration, that’s the effects of global warming.

A good but presumably unintentional depiction of how the “crisis” of illegal immigration is just a dream in the addled mind of our dear “leader”.
