Must it be said once again? Oh well, why not? Rethuglicans care about unborn children; once delivered, not at all.

There is one point to be made. “Late term abortion” refers to abortions from 21 to 24 weeks gestation (40 is full term). If a situation develops that requires that the pregnancy be terminated before 25 weeks, the survival of the fetus is unlikely. 20 to 35 percent of babies born at 23 weeks of gestation survive, while 50 to 70 percent of babies born at 24 to 25 weeks, and more than 90 percent born at 26 to 27 weeks, survive. It is rare for a baby weighing less than 500 g (17.6 ounces) to survive. Looking at Northam’s remarks, one sees that he was NOT advocating infanticide but in fact describing the conflicts and decisions that the parents with the physician must make in such cases.

It’s a shame that someone didn’t abort him.

If not for immigrant children who would the Trumps use as indentured servants?

REMEMBER, Republicans LOVE kids from conception to birth.

THEY, they say “You’re on your own, kid. No SNAP Benefits, NO decent schools, NO Nothing…until you hit 18, and we can use you as cannon fodder in ANOTHER USELESS WAR to help make our Corporate Donors RICHER!!!”

I’d love to have a discussion of abortion based on science and medicine . . . oh wait, never mind.

On and on our politicians prattle on about the right to life and why they need to regulate abortion. ~ If they truly believed in the “right to life” then why don’t they advocate for adoption? A national program that encourages and supports adoption as an alternative to abortion would ensure both a right to life for and a potential for a loving home. ~ Instead we have a hodge-podge of state laws regulating adoption…. while our politicians continue to focus on infringing on women’s rights without actually constructing a solution for the children that they say that they care so much about.

One year ago today, the name of what must have been a wonderful woman (to have had a high school named after her) became irrevocably linked in the public mind with horror. Of course, that linguistic injustice is far down the list of tragedies on that awful day, but I for one would like to say a kind word for Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, the human being.
