My brother happened to first meet his wife at a surprise birthday party his co-workers threw for him. After dating for about 2 years she decided that it would be romantic to get married on the anniversary of the date they met, and as a joke arranged with the caterers to bring out a birthday cake instead of the wedding cake.
With a sense of humor like that to hold them together, they will be celebrating their 35th anniversary in July
