I’m starting to wonder if this ends up with a statement of “How could I have known it was wrong? Look at how incompetent my lawyers are!” I know its not a thought out plan. He picks lawyers based on how much they suck up to him. But I can easily see the Rs in the Senate saying “Well I can’t condemn him. Its true that his lawyers are idiots.”

I think they are both having some age related cognitive issues.

Since Trump has been in office and we have been treated to a non-stop parade of the corrupt and shameless I have come to the interesting conclusion that that level of corruption is apparently hand-in-hand with a commensurate level of stupid. So, just like physical corruption is the rotting of the body, so moral/ethical corruption apparently rots the mind. Still observing, though….
