    Look at it this way – Broomie paid $20 to play a game. People pay money to play games all the time. She did it for fun. Unexpectedly, she won $18! This is not related to the money she paid, because only an idiot expects a payout from a game like this.

    So, Broomie won $18. And if she got $20 worth of enjoyment from her game, she’s ahead.

    That’s how all gambling games work. There have to be a lot of losers to pay the few winners and give the operators, legal or otherwise, a good income.
