All my life I’ve heard of “subtle” humour. What it usually means is “not very funny.”

Charlie Brown is drawing Heathcliff?

I wonder if this was a criticism Charles Schulz had gotten for Peanuts.

Vagueness is the idiot’s idea of subtlety.

Submit your comic to “New Yorker” magazine, Charlie Brown! I remember a reference to a subtle comic of that magazine on an episode of Seinfeld. Was that yours?

Vague, Ubiquitous?

Schroeder in panel 2: would it be “subtle humor” if I pulled the piano and you went “CLUNK” on the floor?

I had a coworker in quality assurance department. He was told, "This company was built on marketing. Your test reports aren’t vague enough.

What is this strip trying to get across? Am I missing something?

How about downright stupid?

At least Schroeder is honest.
