When I was young, I had a job as a store detective for a chain of stores that were the forerunners of WalMart. One of my most ironic apprehensions involved a lady I arrested for shoplifting padlocks. She claimed she needed them to keep the thieves out of her house !

I work in retail. Funniest thing I ever saw was the empty box left behind, after someone had stolen the burglar alarm set that was in it.
