    This is so touching.

My dear kitty Cali passed away four years ago. Last year I found one of her whiskers on the carpet. I am still puzzled as to how it showed up three years later and was somehow missed by many, many vacuumings. I like to imagine that it was perhaps a message from her. I put it in the zipper bag with some of her fur that I had saved. It did not come from my dog. Brutus’s whiskers are short and black. Cali’s were were long and white and that is exactly the whisker I found. ♡

I never could have a cat or dog…. but, I have 2 parrots and have rescued many others. I keep their prettiest moulted feathers in a sealed jar (to keep the moths at bay) and they are wonderful reminders of all the birds that I’ve cared for over the years.

We have a pooch who probably won’t make it to next year’s Christmas. We are already grieving.

I hope the lake wasn’t in Florida? If so I know why Maxie is in the great beyond.

We had a white and gray cat and I could not sit on the furniture before work because of cat hair. When she died, the cat hair was completely gone – I couldn’t find cat hair anywhere. Baffles me to this day.

I’m about to have to make a decision about my fur-baby, Taz. He’s a Pomeranian that I adopted in 2011 from a rescue group. I have no idea how old he is but I think somewhere around 13 or 14. He is deaf and blind from an attack by a pit bull. He thought the pibble was going to hurt me and he was NOT going to allow that to happen! The pibble got Taz’s whole head in her mouth before I and my neighbor could pull her off of him. He also has arthritis. He has started to lose control of his bladder when he sleeps. It’s not going to be an easy decision but I will do what is best for him. He will be buried with my other beloved fur-babies in a special place in the garden. I know they will all be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge when my time comes for God to call me Home. Excuse me while I go wipe the tears off my face and blow my nose.

My Cuda went over the Rainbow Bridge on October 15th of this year. After 14-1/2 years, I am finding it difficult to get enthusiastic about anything. Fortunately, I have three other rescues to help keep me going. I still haven’t picked up Cuda’s favorite “mice” yet, they are where she left them.

It’s always so tough losing one of our ‘kids’. They hold a special place in our hearts. There’s a place locally that cremates, and we have urns for all of them, a paw print, and a clipping of fur.
