Ohhh, “tkcoker”, I am sooo very sorry you suffered for so long! I’m a lil older’n you and I remember kids being told they were lazy, careless, the WONderful phrase, “You aren’t trying hard enough!” or being labeled “backwards”, “slow learner”, etc. One of our best friends is also dyslexic and it’s a really hard row to hoe! Hang in there, knowledge is power and now you know what’s going on. Have you tried audio books? I understand many people can handle that form of reading very easily.
