Halloween is not a success until I have at least one kid who doesn’t want to walk up to the house. …. but when that happens I will go out to the sidewalk to give them two pieces of candy.
I used to do this sort of thing all the time: dress up as the scarecrow/mummy/werewolf prop on the porch that moves/greets the kids; an undertaker that walks up behind them, as my wife hands out treats, and measures them for a casket; the hand that reaches out through the wall and so forth. But that was back when kids would still TorT my neighborhood.
