No wonder she’s confused. Those things that the guy hates about them are the things that she would love about them if they weren’t in the Democratic Party.
Give Obama credit. Some how he managed to be a corporate toady totally giving in to the for profit health insurance companies and a radical Marxist who hates capitalism.
Ted, I’ve repeatedly read of your frustration that you don’t think people are mad enough at corporate Democrats like Obama and the Clintons. The Democratic Party definitely sold out starting with the Clintons to get the money needed for elections, because of a fundamental flaw in the system, not the Democratic Party per se. You need massive amounts of money to run for national office in the US; the easiest place to get it is corporations. That used to be illegal and immoral (Nixon nearly got kicked out of political life because of it in the 1950s); so they changed the laws. Now both major parties are highly pro-corporate, no question. How bizarre that Bernie Sanders, who is really just a reconstructed New Deal Democrat in the FDR mold, has somehow been moved from the mainstream to the far left in today’s American political discussion!
HOWEVER: as bad as they can be, they are NOWHERE NEAR AS BAD as the GOP, and you know this! Screaming at how bad the out-of-power Clintons are now just puts you on the same side as Trumpsters screaming “but her emails!” It’s a distraction from the real crisis. Am I saying to give in or to forgive the Clintons? No way! But there are priorities, dammit.
“Democracy’s greatest fault is that its leaders are likely to reflect the faults and virtues of their constituents—a depressingly low level, but what else can you expect? So take a look at Douglas and ponder that, in his ignorance, stupidity, and self-seeking, he much resembles his fellow Americans, including you and me . . . and that in fact he is a notch or two above the average. Then take a look at the man who will replace him if his government topples.”
“There’s precious little choice.”
“There’s always a choice! This one is a choice between ‘bad’ and ‘worse’—which is a difference much more poignant than that between ‘good’ and ‘better.’”
Robert A. Heinlein, [The Original Uncut] Stranger in a Strange Land (1991)
If Democrats lose, it will be because some are into purity tests for Democrats. Any blue will do. There aren’t enough of us, considering all the cheating that goes on with the GOP in power.
How do you want to organize trade without something like corporations to achieve economies of scale and distribution among the various stakeholders? (Note: stakeholders are NOT shareholders.)
How do you want to organize international trade (or do you want to forget about trading internationally)?

Supply-side economics is the real enemy of the wage earners and neither party seems to make an effort to correct the inequity it causes.

It’s kind of ironic that I have something in common with Tea Partiers-my loathing for corporate Democrats.

Two questions:
How do you want to organize trade without something like corporations to achieve economies of scale and distribution among the various stakeholders? (Note: stakeholders are NOT shareholders.)
How do you want to organize international trade (or do you want to forget about trading internationally)?
