After McConnell’s speeches and comments on the lady, I have learned to truly despise him. He’s a disgrace as a member of the Senate and a failure as a man.
It’s obvious that the Senate Republicans no longer care. At all. These nasty old men are intent on sticking it to that woman (Dr. Ford), and indeed sticking it to ALL women, while ramming through the nomination of the reprobate Brett Kavanaugh. Clearly, their intention is to do all the ramming they can while they still can. At least this time, and at last, the Democrats seem to be putting up a good fight.
The GOPigs are on a suicide run. They know they’re going to lose, and probably lose big, so they’ve in fact nothing more to lose right now. So they’ll take full advantage of the fact that they still have their hands on the controls for the moment. Rather too much like the suicidal terrorists on Flight 93, you know?
Just as the labor unions became too powerful and started doing more harm than good, so too the political parties have become out of control with unConstitutional self-written rules making themselves autonomous such that they no longer truly honor their oath of office but instead thoughtlessly feel that their party’s ideology, even if it is severely dysfunction, must be imposed on the majority of Americans so that elections become even more meaningless.
Attention Mr. Grassley, Mr. McConnell, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Corker, Mr. Graham, Mr. Cornyn and Mr. 46 minus 1: Mr. Merrick Garland. Remember him. You held his Supreme Court nomination open for 293 days without a single hearing. During those 293 days, no one came forward with a shred of evidence about anything that would disqualify him. You just didn’t schedule a hearing or vote for purely political reasons. There is now a credible attempted rape allegation against your Court nominee. For a lifetime appointment. Whose nomination has been open only for 71 days. And your plan is to rush a vote on his nomination without an FBI investigation into a sexual assault he may have committed? Because 46 minus 1 says about the FBI, “this is not their thing.” The “I” in FBI stands for “investigation.” So you don’t want the FBI to investigate someone for the Supreme Court about a credible attempted rape allegation? Please explain.
Merrick Garland was promoted by the Republicans up until Obama nominated him, just like many of the people nominated and issues promoted by Obama. It really is shocking that Republicans have devolved into openly stating that they need to just push a nominee through regardless of the multiple problems with this candidate.
I think it is a gift to all of us that these men have shown, blatantly, how they feel about so many things affecting life, in general, but specifically women. Hopefully voters will open their eyes and ears and believe what they are seeing and hearing and vote these men out. They had their chance time and time again to do the right thing. VOTE BLUE.
Sorry Tom, I can’t like today’s cartoon. Kavanaugh will only reinforce the righ-nazi agenda and overturn the liberal’s history of social and legal protections of minorities, children and women.
Another disgusting thing about Kavanaugh is that years ago, after poor Vince Foster (longtime friend of Bill Clinton) committed suicide, which was an event investigated by the police fully, Kavanaugh opened an additional investigation on it and wasted millions of dollars on it and put the Foster family through a great deal of additional unnecessary pain. That also speaks to his character.
Not to worry. Trump is planning giving Kavanaugh a “preemptive Presidential Pardon” for any crime Kavanaugh may have committed in the past, is committing now, or ever will commit. Nice, huh?
Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman: The key thing to realize about the G.O.P.’s near-total commitment to bad faith is that voters aren’t the only victims. It’s true that many Trump supporters will get a rude shock if Republicans hold Congress, imagining that they’re making America great and losing their health care coverage instead. But bad faith takes a moral toll on Republican politicians, too. We keep seeing people who once appeared to have some sense of decency turn into abject apparatchiks. Remember when Lindsey Graham seemed to have some independent conscience? Is Susan Collins next? Instead of attacking those activists back in Maine, she should be thanking them, for giving her one last chance to save her political soul.
This is why the Democrats will retake the House and hopefully the Senate too. Republicans have been acting like out of control children with no discipline. It’s just what do I get out of this deal ? America is finally waking up they’ve been lied to and the GOP is good as dead. The Democrats are the adults in the room that now need to win in November to start cleaning up the mess they’ve left us with and put a choke collar on that mad dog President

Gerrymandering is where the politicians get to pick their own voters.
Brett Kavanaugh is where the accused gets to pick his own judge.
