First the gold distracts him, then Ben, then thoughts of the apes. There’s still a guy waiting to be rescued and Tarzan’s flaking out.
Tarzan, as well as author, become confused on which way to take story line.
So if he were raised by eagles he’d be able to fly, by this logic.
