Exercise for the readership: apart from the fact that one is served with chips and the other with a spoon, is there really any definitive difference between gazpacho and salsa?
OK, I first heard “Revenge is a dish best served cold” as a Klingon proverb (quoted by Khan in ST2:TWOK), but since then I’ve variously heard it ascribed to Sicilian and Russian (and possibly others).
Can anybody actually cite an instance of either a Sicilian saying it in Sicilian, or a Russian saying it in Russian? For all I really know, it was made up in English and then put in the mouths of foreigners (to show how awful they are)…
