I am surprised that Broomie doesn’t use a real shovel.

I know the answer to the plate problem. The food goes on the top side.

meats: you have to pull some elbow grease, so the big one that will not bend. Salad: does not ‘offer resistance’: the middle one. Dessert: you want to savor it and take your time, the little one. Knifes: meats, you have to cut through it, the big sharp one. butter, ‘like a hot knife on butter’, you don’t need a sharp big one. salads, mostly just to push food into your fork, big one that does not require a special edge. They are this way because their shapes and sizes are intended for their purpose

Broomie needs to correct her grammar, it’s “an” itty-bitty shovel.

At least she didn’t use the original eating implements – her fingers.

As a kid when my dad was transferred to Japan I wondered how the Japanese ate those little tiny grains of rice with the chopsticks thinking one at time would just be murder. As an adult I realized it was how they keep the calories off by having to eat them one at time and they get to keep their healthy figures.
