Nominated to replace Pruitt is Andrew Wheeler, long-time lobbyist for Murray Energy, largest COAL company in the United States, with operations in many states.
On the bright side, this nomination requires Senate confirmations, and that means hearings. So in an election year, Democratic questions can air all of Wheeler’s very dirty (coal stained) laundry, and force Republicans to either vote him down and demand a better nominee, or run on their record of having voted to confirm him right before people go to the polls.
Wheeler may very well be worse for regulation and actually protecting the environment than Pruitt. He’s better at covering his tracks and shame, like Murray killing the miners by violating the regulations.

So we end up with the second in command who will continue all the destruction but not get caught being stupid. It’s neither a plus nor a minus.

Geeezus, they are putting Wheeler, Pruitt’s #2, in his place. He knows more and is less of a grifter.

Wrong on all counts, Breen.
You honestly believe Trump will appoint an EPA head that will attempt to protect the environment?

The guy who takes over will have been well briefed on what is expected to keep the President and cronies pleased!

The Trump Administration, making America great again. You know. When air was visible and rivers burned.

Pruitt made Carl Icahn a half billion dollars with a ‘financial hardship’ waiver for his oil refinery, quite the retirement package.

The polluters will be fine, the Trump administration will pick someone worse, and the Russian GOP Congress will let them through.

Nobody’s smiling Steve. We know the next one will be at least as bad.

Foolish. The next appointee will have none of the baggage but all of the agenda.

Am I the only one who thinks the level of evil as demonstrated by Trump and Pruitt is treading in mental illness territory?

Trump is just putting another disgusting polluter in Pruitt’s place.
If you are tired of Republicans destroying the world, stop voting for them!
