    That lesson will come back to her in many ways over the years. She knows there is no way to correct all her missteps. She also is aware that while she will be able to revise some, she will just have to live with those she can’t correct.

    Also, if you buy a box of pencils, before you get to the bottom of the box the erasers will be all hard and no longer erase.

    Well, of course you do. You’ve got easily 20 times as much pencil as eraser to begin with.

    Read it again. It says you run out of eraser first, not pencil.

    A few weeks ago I found a pencil on the ground at the school I work at. It had never been sharpened (the business end was still squared off) but the eraser was worn off to nothing.

    Why do modern pencils have such terrible erasers? They smear instead of cleaning!
