Thanks GOP, for deepening the hole while widening the gap. My grandkids will be glad to pay the additional taxes needed to keep our country afloat in the near future?

By using Neoliberalism economics to freeze the inflation adjusted wages of the middle class, and selling (not leasing, as the wealthy do) common goods to wealthy sponsors, when the next recession occurs, whichever party controls our one-sided, mutually exclusive “Congress” will be forced to raise revenue due to short term “thinking” in the current “Congress”

    Congress

noun [ U ] US /ˈkɑŋ·ɡrəs/politics & government the elected group of people in the US who are responsible for making the law, consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives

    congress

    NOUN

A formal meeting or series of meetings for discussion between delegates, especially those from a political party, trade union, or from within a particular sphere of activity.

The US “Congress” doesn’t seem to be a congress any more.

Ah yes, the voice of stupidity. Even should the Democrats win both houses of congress, how would they get it past a presidential vetoe? Tjis is mere republican trollish BS.

The union has specifically criticized Harley-Davidson for investing in the Thailand factory after receiving massive tax cuts from the GOP tax plan.

“These companies are taking tax breaks with one hand and handing out pink slips with the other,” International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers President Bob Martinez Jr. told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Wednesday. “I’m going to call it like I see it … this is a corporate ambush on working people."

Despite pleas from lawmakers to keep the Kansas City factory open, Harley has decided to close it, a move that will result in approximately 800 lost jobs.

It would have been more realistic if Varvel had drawn a “MAGA cap” wearing voter reaching for his/her Tax Cut!

We’ve seen this magic show before with Bush/Cheney. As GW said,

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

    “Fool me once….. "

“Rarely is the question asked, ‘Is our children learning?’”

One warning: Smoot-Hawley. Those who refuse to learn from history will re-live it, magnified in an even more globalized world.

CEOs said that they would take the tax cuts and pay down their debt, buy back stock, automate and initiate mergers. This is what they did plus they have consolidated manufacturing and closed plants, even after the states had given them tax cuts to build there in the first place. Tax cuts from states are a race to the bottom because the states give more than they get back from the company at the expense of the other taxpayers.

The jobs report showed an increase in jobs,, but most of those are low wage and many are temporary / seasonal. Even the NY Times article Lester posted as “proof” of a great economy had a picture of Help Wanted at restaurants. Wages went up but just a very tiny amount for regular workers. The tax cuts went to the top and they’re keeping most of it for themselves. Several tried to take credit for giving bonuses but many of those were previously negotiated by a union.

Did I miss something important, or is this just another lying cartoon?

I haven’t yet seen/heard of any of the GOP offering “repeal tax cuts” as any sort of bait to attract Democrats.
