    “Hoist with his own petard” is a Shakespearean idiom from Hamlet meaning “to cause the bomb maker to be blown up with his own bomb”. A petard is a small bomb used for blowing up gates and walls when breaching fortifications. It is of French origin and dates back to the 16th century.

    Tom Bossert Homeland Security Adviser has been fired by the newly installed national security adviser John Bolton. Nadia Schadlow Deputy national Security Adviser for Strategy has been fired and will leave her position at the end of the month, she is the third senior national security official to be pushed out in the wake of national security adviser John Bolton’s entree to the White House.
