You know they’re worried when they break out “daddy”

Now’s the time for Larry to break out his twitchy, nostril-flaring little weasel face.

When did this kid show a desire to do things with a parent on the weekend? Is this a way to say get well quick without displaying emotion?

Did I miss the strip where they said what was wrong with his leg? I’m lost here.

Yep. Teens don’t need anybody or anything. Until Dad is in hospital; then they fall right off that high horse and “Daddy” it is. And, can we please be told what in the jolly blue blazes happened to him!?!?!?

With a country awash in narcissistic self-absorption I’m having a hard time giving Son a pass on this. It’s NEVER too early to learn empathy and how to express it.

I love the look on his son’s face. It says, “I wish you were well enough to go to the park with me, I love you” even though that is not what came out of his mouth.

Just before finals in my freshman year in college, my dad had a heart attack. In the hospital he apologized for having to cancel the trip to Disney World we had planned for summer break. I only wanted him to come home. He didn’t. Mom and I finally went to Disney almost 20 years later.
