Lester doesn’t understand the purpose of the law suit. A similar one brought against the GOP while Nixon was President ended up being successful and the RNC paid the DNC about a quarter of a million dollars.

    " …

The lawsuit alleges that Russia, its GRU intelligence service, the Trump campaign, and various allies—including Donald Trump, Jr.—were all part of a “conspiracy” to “promote Donald Trump’s candidacy through illegal means.” The president himself is not a named co-defendant.

“As stolen DNC information was strategically released into the public sphere, then-candidate Trump openly praised the illegal disseminations and encouraged Russia to continue its violations of US law through its ongoing hacking campaign against the Democratic party,” the civil complaint, which was filed Friday in federal court in Manhattan, stated.

DNC lawyers say that the attack against the party began in June 2015, just weeks after Trump declared himself a candidate for president.

If successful, the DNC might stand to be awarded some money (perhaps millions of dollars) as part of a judgement or settlement. However, its primary aims may actually be to seek new communications between the co-defendants that may shed some light on this alleged conspiracy. Such materials could be released as part of the civil discovery process.

    " …

THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL Committee Friday filed a lawsuit against a broad slate of people and entities allegedly responsible for the 2016 hack of its email, phone calls, and more. But while the suit claims involvement from a host of headliners—Wikileaks, Julian Assange, Donald Trump, Jr., and Russia among them—its immediate importance lies in the previously unreported timeline it lays out.

While a rough outline of the DNC hack that rocked the 2016 election had previously been established, the 66-page lawsuit, first reported by The Washington Post gives exact dates for the first time. It also asserts coordination among a web of characters affiliated with the Trump campaign, Russia’s GRU intelligence service, and WikiLeaks.

“No one is above the law,” the suit begins. “In the run-up to the 2016 election, Russia mounted a brazen attack on American Democracy.”

JUST WHEN THE cybersecurity world thinks it’s found the limits of how far Russian hackers will go to meddle in foreign elections, a new clue emerges that suggests another line has been crossed.

They should sue Hillary. She’s the one who hijacked and extorted the party, and blew the Presidential election, which without her very likely would have been a slam dunk for any other Democrat candidate.

I would think this is a rather risky move. When you file a civil suit of this type, you open the door to discovery in both directions.

The DNC has essentially subjected themselves to the discovery process by Russia, Wikileaks, the Trump Campaign, and several individuals. Given the financial strength of several of the parties (ability to pay lawyers), I can’t see this working well.

The DNC could be required by the court to turn over immense amounts of information to some or all of the named parties.

Well, this cartoon certainly proves there was no collusion — no money laundering either.

    In like Flynn.

I read that Trump Disciples are afraid that Cohen will flip on Trump.

What do they have to be afraid of?

    Fake news, right?

Didn’t Roger Stone tweet, “Podesta’s turn in the barrel” about a week before Podesta’s e-mails were made public by Wiki-leaks?

So the DNC is suing because it was caught influencing its own primary and wants to shift blame to Trump, the Russians, and wikileaks. The picture would be more accurate is the banana was up Tom Perez’s I will not finish this sentence.

The DNC is suing the Trump campaign, Russia, Julian Assange and several relatives and associates of Trump alleging a grand conspiracy that harmed Democrats through WikiLeaks’ publication of internal party emails during the 16 presidential campaign. Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last year to investigate the same contours that the democrats allege. As part of that mandate, Mueller is empowered to investigate any links between the Russian government and Trump campaign associates and bring criminal prosecutions. Trump has repeatedly insisted that there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians, and has denounced the special counsel investigation as a “witch hunt” The US intelligence community, however, has concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered “an influence campaign” in 16 with the goal of undermining public confidence in the US democratic process and eroding Clinton’s chances of winning the presidency.
