Maybe they’re planning to raise the voting age to 65?

Hopefully they will move us into a better world rather than clinging to the conservative antique ideas you are enamored with. Trump is a would be fascist if there ever was one. The second amendment was written for a world two hundred years in the past. The NRA brought this on themselves. It is reasonable to require universal background checks. It is reasonable to require people who want a gun to be trained on the use, safety and legal responsibilities. If the second amendment stands in the way of rational behavior then I guess we would be better off without it.

The politicians should be fearful now. Thousands of young adults were registered to vote at the march and many more will come of age before the elections in November.

I really wonder what planet Trackman is living on, because it SURE as hell isn’t THIS one!! He/she/it STILL loves to spew the tired old LIE that the protestors want “To Take away EVERYONE’S Guns”, when anyone with an I.Q. higher then their shoe size KNOWS that this is NOT what they want! Sensible restrictions on the age limits for buying what is essentially MILITARY-GRADE Firepower is NOT taking away everyone’s guns. Still, you can’t expect indoctrinated fools like Antiquetrackman to believe anything except what they have been brainwashed to believe.

Considering the constant denigration of high school students in Parkland, many soon to graduate, antiquetracman and his ilk must be promoting and willing to pay for college education or equivalent training classes for all.

When you listen to some of the nimrods in Congress, I’d like to see several of these teens take their places NOW. F-bombs and all.

What disturbs me is the fact that Congress in 2006 (a Bush Year) exempted arms manufacturers from legal liability for their products. Then the arms manufacturers made massive amounts of assault rifles that are only useful in killing people rapidly. They had no fear or conscience about it because they are legally immune from liability even knowing that was the only use for their weapon. I suggest rather than repeat the second amendment we repeat the immunity law and sue the bastard out of existence.

@Gary: In the English language that I learned before puberty, “t” and “l” are not interchangeable letters. I sincerely hope you meant “repeal” and not “repeat” as you wrote.

Hey Trackman! Other kids are shooting at THEM! It’s evident you don’t give a DAMN!

It NEVER is about taking anyone’s guns away, except for the mentally ill.

But as usual, you don’t care.

    You’re flagged.

What is an Assault Weapon? This reporter asked the young people on the street during the march. And you wonder why we scoff at these children.

Never underestimate the youth. It was youth who got the civil rights era going. The anti gun march was only the beginning. There will be more marches, sit-ins, town halls, get out the vote efforts, etc. like the popular tune in the 80s : don’t DREAM it’s over… hey now, hey now, don’t DREAM it’s over…

Andylit asks, “What is an Assault Weapon?” I know! I know! An assault weapon is a tool that kills many people all at once. Do I win?

@ANTIQUETRCMAN you’re not the only one who has the privilege of being descended from ancestors who fought in the American Revolution against England for our freedom. All the women in my family can be called Daughters of the Revolution. We’ve usually taken that quite seriously. I’ll bet if you check ..personally …there are children in those protest marches who can claim the same thing because it’s true what they say about we all of us being related and connected to each other within six degrees of contact.

You are out of line if you think you can make teenagers behave the way you think they should behave when these teens show that they have a definite sense of what is right and what is wrong. They are not coming for your guns. They are not trying to repeal the 2nd Amendment. They are trying to get Congress to enact and to enforce sensible gun regulations.

Your postings in here make me wonder if you are a paid troll or simply deliberately ignorantly blinded by your own introverted opinions. Almost everyone who posts in here has read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and scholarly arguments about what those documents mean to us as Americans. We were taught principles and ethics to go along with the ideologies of democracy, we know that our forefathers did not intend for our children to be the targets of weapons of mass destruction. If there is to be a future for our Democratic Republic then the massacres of our children has to stop now. We have to ensure that we continue to evolve this enlightened experiment in democracy our forefathers fought for and established for our future.

We need a ban on assault-style weapons used to destroy children in their schools. We need to come together and stop the killing – there is no reason we have mass shootings in schools, except the “adults” are not doing their job. The March was for their lives, the way they are going to save their lives is through voting. Not just them, not just one march. Everyone should vote, and this issue isn’t going away until it stops.

We have two historical allies which are a lot like us: majority northern European ancestry, still significant indigenous minority increasingly vocal, increasing immigration from Asia, frontier culture including guns a significant part of the folkloric tradition, legal structure derived from English Common Law, etc. Yet they have a higher standard of living, greater longevity, less poverty, than we do. Why don’t we avail ourselves of their successful experiments and simply adopt wholesale the Canadian health system and Australian gun regulations?

@ANTIQUETRACMAN , I was 17-18 when the southern white women were standing on the sidewalks screaming at black kids being walked to their white school. I knew exactly what was going on, and I was horrified. These kids are more knowledgeable than you think.
