Did you like “The Astronaut Farmer?” It was about a fellow who had to drop out of the Original Seven, in order to save the family farm, but went on to build his own Mercury/Atlas system, and then made it into orbit against US government opposition.
Too unrealistic, hunh?
OK, so will you be promoting “Early Man?” It’s a stop-motion animation by the same studio that made “Chicken Run” some years ago. Silly and uplifting, about the value of teamwork.
Oh, you don’t like soccer. Sorry.
Well then, how about the upcoming “A Wrinkle in Time?” Madelaine L’Engle was a celebrated, explicitly Christian, author. Surely you’ll be touting that?
No? You don’t like Oprah Winfrey?
fusilier, who wonders if you mitched and boaned about remaking “Ghostbusters” with guuurrrrls ….
According to data found in Wikipedia, compiled from the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the Violent Crime Rate peaked in 1991 with a rate of 758 per 100,000. It fell steadily in the succeeding years, bottoming at 361 in 2014. As of 2016, the rate was 386 per 100,000.
The question really should be, what were we doing right?

Meanwhile the right wants to attack the survivors of gun violence, by making assault style weapons available to the general public.

Isn’t it too soon to talk about gun violence in the movies?

Oddly, they watch those same movies in Europe & Australia, yet kids there aren’t shooting up schools.

Appears to be a rather feeble effort from Mr. Lester on a very tragic issue.
