My place of employment prides itself in being “green” – skylights, separated trash, the works. What I’ve learned is that if it’s not clearly recyclable, not clearly compostable, and not clearly garbage- just throw it in the trash. You don’t want to mess up the composting or the recycling.
People where I worked got little blue trash cans for recyclables in addition to the regular cans. But the cleaning ladies refused to empty the blue ones because they weren’t in the contract.

Throw it in someone else’s waste basket and let them worry about it.

Should have bought Bazooka Bubble Gum then you’d have a paper comic (gettin’ rare) or puzzle to read.
Now, what do with the used gum?

The part I like is you do all this separating and the garbage companies just throw it away in the same place because no one wants the recyclables.

Here on the Pacific Coast we send our “recyclables” to China, but the Chinese complain if the wrong stuff is included.
