The ridiculous part is that all the oil wells in those regions have already been abandoned as worthless. The only natural resources worth mining are Uranium and Potash.
The concept of using finite sources to create energy is illogical for anything but short term. The efficiencies of scale work for renewables and against finite fossil sources in terms of cost and maintenance. Trying to bring back fossil fuels is more nostalgic than pragmatic. I guess it’s hard to see the future when your vision is clouded by ideologies that are no longer relevant.
Trump’s “America first” campaign is going to have us on the tail end of the renewable energy Revolution. We will fall so far behind that it will take generations to catch up to what is being done in India and China and the rest of the world. We will be like Stone Age cave dwellers expected to live in a modern world we don’t understand simply because our government wouldn’t see that the keys to future prosperity lies in conservation of natural resources and the use of renewable energy as a source of limitless power.

Amazing they think they can terraform Mars for habitation, after they destroy Earth. Doesn’t it just make more sense NOT to destroy our home?

They will continue to destroy the earth as long as they can make a profit off of it.
