Yes, the political payoffs for decades from the NRA and gun manufacturers. Regulation, as noted by Scalia is both the DUTY of government when you take your gun outside the house. Regulation, despite the bullpucky from NRA does NOT equal confiscation. It is interesting how often folks point out that every adult male in Switzerland has a gun, making Switzerland safe, but the don’t point out how REGULATED those firearms are, and yes, it’s their militia.

That’s right, you will all have to wait until there are no more gun murders in order to talk about gun control.

You ‘Mericans’ treat the 2nd amendment like it is sacrosanct. It can be removed or changed. But….NRA.

Republicans are ignoring the mass murders as fast as they can.

If you are tired of Republican ignorance, stop voting for them.

In Oklahoma, some people are indiscriminately shooting bullets around in some rural areas. These are hitting around homes and children.

It was politics that made this easier to happen.

Politics is swirling around Mandalay Bay because the politicians in DC won’t do their job. If we had a Congress interested in working for the people of America, we wouldn’t be wondering where the next mass shooting was going to take place. Concert? Church? Public transportation? School? Just keep whining about how politicized those mass shootings are. They’ll get better as soon as ignoring Climate change makes storms decrease in intensity.

The GOP shouldn’t be an elephant – it should be an ostrich, with its head in the sand.

Just read the Second Amendment … Where does it mention that INDIVIDUALS have a right to own firearms?

    http://www.nytimes.com/1999/02/21/nyregion/police-to-seize-cars-of-people-accused-of-drunken-driving.html

There is a long established precedent of confiscating dangerous mechanisms from irresponsible people as well as licensing and regulations to preemptively deter irresponsible people from misusing these mechanisms. Bats and knives are manual, human powered passive devices unlike cars and guns which use explosive forces well beyond that which a human being can produce.

There is no reason that EITHER a gun should be taken from a responsible, licensed gun owner, OR a person should have to fear being injured/killed by a gun, OTHER THAN a congress that is not doing its job of deliberating, compromising and legislating for “We the People”.

Funny how guns and their ownership is more important than the lives of the people killed by them. I guess the right to life was not specifically enshrined in the Constitution.

Republican congress was trying to pass a silencer bill on the day of the mass murder.

    Kick them out of office.

2016,762 people were murdered in Chicago. More than 4,000 people were shot. Police recovered more than 5,000 guns from the streets. Yet federal prosecutors tried just 123 cases

We can all “thank” Justice Scalia for the 2008 SCOTUS interpretation of the Second Amendment!
