Andy, Max, Luci, Holly, and Alix must be having quite an evening while their parents and uncles/aunts are out.

Sigh. That last panel reminds me of a night of dinner out with my parents. I actually had to tell my father to put away his phone while he was eating!

Why do you think they are called “cell” phones? Maybe they should be called opioids. People are addicted to them! They might as well be behind bars.

Last panel: without politics as a subject there can be no conversation?! The art of conversation has been subsumed by devices.

Face it. Our species is doomed.

Well, they could talk about Religion….Or is that pretty much the same thing?

Suggest a topic and start a conversation. If you eliminate one instead, that’s all anyone can think about.

It also implies that they are unable to carry on any conversation unless the topic is politics. There are too many people like that in real life. Very sad.

People these days only want to talk about negative stuff. Like politics.

I planned on posting 3 hours earlier ran out of time. With no politics talk went dead. Hubby and I have time away with our own now grown children we had to learn to talk over. Been there minus cell phones. Today strip is funny.

is Jan suggesting that without politics she is running out of topics? Unless she googles first?

When people live with/next to each other, all the regular subjects are talked about every day.Makes it hard for special occasions like this when you have running commentary all the time.

Start talking about “Dancing With the Stars” or “The Bachelor/The Bachelorette” and they’ll beg for politics!
