Yep, the theocracy folks don’t give up, but hey, no problem, just make all the churches playing politics pay property taxes, and corporate taxes.

The founders knew of the issues the European theocracies had and did what they could to prevent the US from becoming a theocracy and excluding people of other religions from participation in governing.

@Herrweh I believe that you’re correct. There is a great deal of difference in the way young and old feel and the political affiliations do not change as people age, as was once accepted as fact. Having worked with Millennials, I’m optimistic about our future as a country and hope to see some positive changes as the Silent and Boomer numbers dwindle and fade away.

I am guessing this religious rights bill only applies to Christian theology.. surely all those other heathen religions are excluded.

Tax Mega Churches if they are going to preach right wing politics.

No, only Christians are allowed to follow their religious beliefs over and above the Constitution; Muslims still may not follow THEIR Sharia Laws in America. The First Amendment only applies to SOME people. This “equal under the law” thing doesn’t hold now.

If ‘religious freedom’ can be used to take health care away from people, by all means use ‘religious freedom’.

    .

Let’s keep in mind that the goal is to cut taxes for the rich.

I do remember reports that some evangelical preachers told their congregations not to vote for Romney because he, “Isn’t a real Christian.”

    The laws of Moses.

The content of the Law is spread among the books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers, and then reiterated and added to in Deuteronomy (deutero-nomy is Latinised Greek for “Second reading of the Law”). This includes:

the Ten CommandmentsMoral laws – on murder, theft, honesty, adultery, etc.Social laws – on property, inheritance, marriage and divorce,Food laws – on what is clean and unclean, on cooking and storing food.Purity laws – on menstruation, seminal emissions, skin disease and mildew, etc.Feasts – the Day of Atonement, Passover, Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Weeks etc.Sacrifices and offerings – the sin offering, burnt offering, whole offering, heave offering, Passover sacrifice, meal offering, wave offering, peace offering, drink offering, thank offering, dough offering, incense offering, red heifer, scapegoat, first fruits, etc.Instructions for the priesthood and the high priest including tithes.Instructions regarding the Tabernacle, and which were later applied to the Temple in Jerusalem, including those concerning the Holy of Holies containing the Ark of the Covenant (in which were the tablets of the law, Aaron’s rod, the manna). Instructions and for the construction of various altars.Forward looking instructions for time when Israel would demand a king.

Good gravy, you really think the Little Sisters LIKE Trump and the removal of health care from the poor? Obamacare was nothing about restrictions on religious freedom. They could practice their religion however they liked. The problem is they are busy trying to push their religion on to me.

You could face a fine if you didn’t sign up for ObamaCare. Terrible. But if you don’t sign up for TrumpCare, you’ll be facing massive increases in premiums when you do. And that’s just fine ‘cause it’s ok when Big Business screws you over.

The irony of Henery Payne’s cartoon seems to be lost on him. The sisters are supposed to support the poor, yet be happy with a bill that undermines the health care of the poor and disabled and be happy about it because their religious freedom is above the poor. The high pedestal of religious morality in service of the poor? Let them eat cake.

If they make Little Sisters of the Poor great like they made America great, those nuns are in serious trouble.

The first thing the old guys who wrote the Old Testament was to Tax the you know what out of everybody and pay it to the Rabbis, then Christianity and the Church of Rome did the same, then along came Mormons with the minimum 10% everybody has to pay to the church. TAXES have always been a primary religious practice.
