Beetle Bailey made more sense back when there was a draft.

It still makes some sense to those of us who were drafted.

If I recall correctly, Beetle was drafted during the Korean War, so his four years has lasted a LONG time! Didn’t draftees only have to serve 2 or 3 years (at least in the Vietnam period)?

Beetle, you’ve been kicked around by Sarge since 1950.You have missed several deployments and conflicts arranged by old rich guys, but there is more to come.Hang, brother.
