Ironically, some experts believe that the Titanic crashing headfirst into the iceberg – and crumpling/tearing a single large hole in the front of the ship that the watertight flooding compartments were specifically designed to deal with – would have been far less devastating than trying to turn away from it and putting a gigantic gash down the side that overwhelmed the compartments.

Know when to abandon ship, or get rid of the captain. We a had a LT like that in ‘Nam. He didn’t end well.

Me too Flow, me too. You would have to find their bodies which is unlikely. And anyway what you have is an idea trying to be a hypothesis. Please collect data to find out.

In his 1997 Liberty Magazine article “Mysteries of the Titanic,” Stephen W. Cox noted: “A long parade of North Atlantic captains testified before [British Board of Trade Wreck Commissioner] Lord Mersey that when they sailed under Titanic conditions (iceberg warnings, darkness, but good weather, with clear visibility) they never slowed down, and neither did anybody else.” Wiley’s iceberg field brings to mind the asteroid field in “The Empire Strikes back,” both being far more cluttered than the real thing. http://www.libertyunbound.com/node/343

I can’t believe people are arguing about the actual Titanic, and ignoring the the current metaphorical one and it’s flaming-haired (pants permanently on fire) um.. captain. (I know he doesn’t move like his pants are on fire, but you have to figure that all that padding is flame-proofing, right?)

    What heart?

Aside from his policies, the guy confuses the heck out of me. He’s made so many clearly false statement, and then been contradicted or ‘clarified’ by his staff and / or himself so many times. I can’t tell if what he’s saying is the truth, a accidental misstatement, a misunderstanding of the facts, an intentional lie, or a outright delusion.

The country is clearly being lead by an insecure child who needs to feel important, but is clearly not up to the job. I feel sorry for his “handlers” who have to keep trying to explain what he actually meant. I feel sorrier for this country.

What he says is called ‘augmented reality.’ What he sees against what he thinks he sees and what he thinks others see.

Our real life is becoming very similar to The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. We have Fearless Leader, a blonde Natasha and even Boris Badenov. We’re just missing Moose and Squirrel.

More MMS cartoonist thinking. O spent 8 years taking us half way or more toward a full blown top down welfare state / non player foreign affairs wise courtesy of the “watchdog” press only watching one side of the fence. The “watchdogs” are still at it only this time they are trying to keep as much of the welfare state / weak sister takeover in place until they get their next go at taking it all the way to the finish line.

I love the way Wiley doesn’t mention his name, but everyone knows who he’s talking about.

If you listen carefully, you can tell that “I’m a GREAT president” means “I quit”. Remember that when he’s hustled out the door.

Here’s the thing: Donald Trump has serious problems with both his long-term and his short-term memory, and he has no real core principles other than the one of self-worship. This explains why his opinions and his positions can so easily change from year to year or even day to day. (And, yes, it’s the easiest thing in the world to find the contradictions, and NO, they are not “fake news.” ) It is literally impossible to take Trump literally, for this reason. It is also impossible to take Trump seriously, for the same reason. Now, what explains Bannon is a bit trickier…..could he be the love child of Judas Iscariot and John Wilkes Booth?

I have a very small announcement to make. Since I poke fun at Twitter all the time, I thought I’d sign up for it just to see what it’s like. Don’t know how long I’ll stay with it, as I can already see what a time-sucker it can be. But for those who care about such things, my Twitter handle is @TheWileyMiller.
