    Our dog doesn’t even bother to chase them any more. He’s lazy, I think – or maybe just very smart. His attitude toward a tossed stick seems to be “You threw it; you go get it.”

    From watching my dogs, and the squirrels, it appears that the chase is the whole point of the exercise.

    According to the dogs I have had in my life the catching is not near as fun as the chasing. Time well spent Koko!
