You are overlooking the fact that it was a team rule and if you’re going to play on the team, you need to follow the rules. No one is forcing him to be a multi-million dollar game player.
I agree that neckties are a useless adornment that should have gone away decades ago.I am 66, got rid of ties and suits over 40 years ago. Altho I did wear a suit with a tie in 2004 to daughters wedding.IMPO ties are an expensive adornment that in todays world means nothing.Altho, Trump seems to really like red power ties. His factory making said ties is not in US. Wonder why
TIES: My own policy was never to wear a tie in our engineering office, but occasionally in a meeting with managers at least two levels above me that I didn’t previously know. At one such meeting (chaired by my manager), I wore a custom size-20 shirt and the company tie — my manager immediately asked, “Did somebody die?”
Neck ties (except clip-ons) are undeniable hazards when working on the manufacturing floor among moving equipment, but some a**hole mangers required ties for their salaried foremen. Ex-president Carter tried appearing tie-less in sweaters (his best idea), but politics soon dissuaded him.
